on the pic ... nice one has one thing with the FA megalith in common ^^ (dual doublebarreled cannons)
the techtrees also so that upgrading only works via producing researchpoints from researchbuildings.
you only have a couple of baseunits and buildings (but those can be upgraded as can buildings with some attachments such as shields or AA)
known experimentals were weakened or lost some abilitys (example: fatboy is not a factory anymore as is the aeon mothership)
the only good point is there are MORE experimentals then before but again compareable weaker then from supcom 1 or FA ... so that building experimentals doesn't mean beeing a early gameender ...
i say go download the Sup Com 2 demo to see for yourself (and go use the debug mode that has nearly all its units in) or go watch some reviews or useropinions on those reviews or gameforums
but IMO if you realy LOVED sup com 1 or FA ... you likely will be dissapointed about the huge changes that had been done in supcom 2
Supcom 2 in it self isn't a bad game ... but compared to its predecessor it's not a "SUPREME"-commander ...
